The Dog Cabin

Terms and Conditions

Upon confirmation of booking, the client understands the following terms and conditions:

  • 48 hours notice must be given before cancellation of an appointment, to avoid cancellation charges. If a client cancels with less than 48 hours notice, or does not show for the appointment, this will incur a full charge.

  • Any allergies, diseases or behavioural issues will be disclosed to the groomer before the appointment.

  • If a dog in our care is harboring fleas, we will clear them with specialised shampoo as an extra, added charge.

  • The Dog Cabin may refuse to groom a dog that presents risk of injury to itself or The Dog Cabin staff.

  • The Dog Cabin can not be held liable for any pre-existing health conditions the dog may have, that may be exaserbated by the grooming process. We will notify you if your dog's health may be at risk, and the groom may have to be stopped.

  • We no longer pluck ears, but will shave ear hairs short. This is veterinary advice.

  • We do not express anal glands. This is veterinary advice.

  • Puppies must have all their vaccinations up to date before their first visit.

  • During the grooming process, there is a small possibilty of accidents, due to the nature of grooming. Grooming equiptment is sharp, and although we use every caution and method to provide the best care possible, accdiental nicks, cuts, scratches, or nail bleeding may occur if the dog moves at the wrong moment.  The Dog Cabin are not liable for these accidents that occur due to behavioural issues.

  • The Dog Cabin must be informed if your dog is in heat, or pregnant. Pregnant dogs are groomed at the owner's risk, and only for humanity, not vanity, reasons.

  • Dogs with severly matted coats will encur and extra charge. Matting is not only harmful and extremely painful on your dog, but it blunts grooming equiptment and requires extra time during an appointment.

  • The Dog Cabin is not liable for any problems that may occur following a matted coat shave off, including but not limited to; itchy skin, abrasions, balder patches, change in colour/texture of coat, excessive licking and heightened exposure to the elements.

  • Payment must be made on the day, before collection of your dog.

  • Pricing is determined by breed, size, coat condition and behaviour. Quoted prices are subject to change, should your dog present with any issues that have not been disclosed at time of booking.

  • Complaints regarding skin irritation, nicks, cuts, or other issues you feel may have been caused by the grooming process, must be reported within 48 hours of the groom, after which The Dog Cabin will be unable to help further.

  • In the case of a medical emergency, owners will be notified immediately and The Dog Cabin will transport them to the nearest veterinary practice. Any expenses incurred will be the repsonsibility of the pet owner.

  • The Dog Cabin may use your dog's photo or video for promotional purposes on our website or social media pages. If you are not comfortable with this, please inform us immediately and they will be taken down.

  • We provide a service in compliance with The Animal Welfare Act (2006).
